Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will leave Newfoundland and land in Toronto at 2:40 p.m. at Pearson Airport today. They will meet with Premier Dalton McGuinty, and then Prince Charles will meet with members of the Canadian Business for Social Responsibility. Camilla will visit the Royal Conservatory of Music at the U of T. The next day, they will head to Dundurn Castle in Hamilton, and visit the HMCS Haida, and tour the Niagara College in Niagara-on-the-Lake. On Friday they open the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
Even though the Queen of England and her son the prince don't actually have any power in Canada, I think that it is good to have them as part of our country. Their presence helps us to remember our history. They remind us how we got to be the country that we are today. Just reviewing their travel schedule, it is also clear that they work very hard in fulfilling their duties.
